Cheesed off...

On tuesday night I played indoor netball.

We were down our GS (Goal Shooter) and as that posistion doesn't run very much I said I would play that posistion [I still feel tired and sick * COuGh* CoUgH* and I can't run much because I get exhusted very easily]. I am usually a defender and I am not so good at attacking - so this was going to be a funny game.


When I get on the court I always talk to my player (GK) - this generally makes the game better and more fun. When I said "Hello, how are you?" to the goal keeper she rolled her eyes before squaking out a angry 'hi'.

As soon as the game started she was all over me like a rash - now kids this IS what a defender is meant to do BUT she was "intimidating" by crushing her body into mine. Because she was slow she couldn't defend and even though she was continually pulled up for contact she didn't stop hurting me - she even scratched my face! All the time while she was barging me she was saying "for god's sake..." because I was albe to move around her.

Anyway the after one of our Center breaks (C throws the ball to someone in the centre third) our WA was tripped over and hurt herself. The ball came flying toward my third and I picked up the ball and walked over to where the WA was lying. As I was walking over the GK came over and SNATCHED the ball out of my hand saying "Thats my ball", to which I replyed "Settle down, someone's hurt alright"...

After the game had finished I shook her hand and held on to it for a moment while she looked away NOT making eye contact. I should have said " YOU STUPID HEAD, learn to be a good sport or just f**k off", Instead I said " Good game, try not to take it so seriously though" and she barked back at me "Well if you stopped barging me..." [Ah huh! Yes she was a physco].

Maybe this girl had emotion problems to come at me so fiercely (and hurt me), I would like to think so. The game of Netball does, however, bring out the worst in girls - a mean and competitive need to win at all costs.

This situation actually makes me think of a Simpson's QUOTE :
"Well Mrs Simpson, some people are just Jerks".
